You have been through a rather no-frills year in 2009, so by the time you get to February, you're tired of the same old life. Even the wealthy Cancers among us are frustrated with the same old financial limits that their transiting Mars has imposed. It's no wonder you yearn for a breakthrough. You want to liven things up! You want events that point you in a new direction. February has the power to provide you with that and so much more. It's due to be a glorious month, dear Cancer, for love, health, career, money, travel - take your pick, or take them all!
Jupiter entered Pisces in January for the first time since 1998, and make no mistake, Jupiter's new position will help you more than you suppose. This is the first time in several years that you've had direct support from generous Jupiter and that makes a huge difference. This month you will begin to see the lucky breaks you've long craved, so you will need to keep your antenna up and be ready to roll when it starts to happen. Indeed, with Jupiter behind you, suddenly nothing is impossible!
Let's take the month from the top, for certainly things will get increasingly brighter as you go along. As you enter February, you may be distracted with a financial situation that you are just finishing up. The January 30 full moon may have been a tough one for you, because it reminded you that you really do need more cash coming in. You had to write a check at that full moon to fulfill a previously made promise, and it may have taken a lot out of your bank account. That full moon brought a financial matter to a head.
Look at what is happening in the positive light - it's time to try new methods. Experimentation often brings amazing results, and you seem to be in the mood to try. Good! Following along the same old path will only bring the same old results, and you seem to know that.
With Mars tearing through your second house of income since mid-October, you've needed to find ways to either cut back on expenses or bring in more cash, or both. Expenses have remained stubbornly high, due to Mars' presence in this house, and Mars is not due to leave until June 7. You need a little luck, and it really looks like you will start to get it now and in weeks to come. This better phase will be in place all year, so there is a difference from what you experienced in late 2009 and what is coming.
The end of February will bring some unexpected and very upbeat, powerful developments on the financial front (something you and I will discuss in a minute). And also, once you get to March 10, Mars will turn direct and you may find that talks you've been having will click better and will move forward with greater momentum.
Pluto will contact Jupiter on February 6, a wow of an aspect, suggesting that your ongoing talks will enter into an exciting, new phase or that a new opportunity will open up. A partner, agent, headhunter, or middleman will become an essential element to your success in what comes up. Take seriously any offers or ideas that come up near February 6 - this could grow into a very big deal. It's clear a partner or representative / collaborator is worth his or her weight in gold. Astrologers know that when you combine Jupiter and Pluto, you have one of the most potent blends for big-time success possible! It appears you will be thinking big at this time.
On the same day, February 6, Mercury and Uranus will stir up excitement, so the offer or news you get will come quite suddenly, possibly in a strange way, say, because you are at the right place at the right time. There are two aspects, Mercury with Uranus, and Jupiter with Pluto, coming on the same day, and they will set off a chain of events that could only be called amazing! Be out and about! You may feel things one day sooner, February 5.
The new moon on February 13 will fall in your eighth house of other people's money. This new moon will appear very close to Neptune. That's a planet that brings both pros and cons. Most of the time astrologers don't like Neptune at a new moon in a financial house because Neptune is known to sometimes obscure facts and make something look better than it really is to get you to take the bait. Just to be sure, ask many questions and talk the deal over with others before jumping in. If your friends are skeptical, you should be, too.
On the other hand, Neptune is the planet that rules the arts, so if you work in any kind of artistic field, such as illustration, fine art, film, acting, music, dance, theatre, write literature or poetry, or are involved as support staff to creative people in these fields, you have a good chance of seeing an increase in business. The money seems to be performance based - you can make a hefty commission / royalty / licensing fee or other sum as a result of your efforts. Profit would be built on performance. If you have an idea or artistic product or service to sell, this new moon, February 13 (plus two weeks), would be the time to show it to many potential buyers.
There is another theme happening in February and it's one that could work out to be the big surprise of the month. It is one that might instantly give an up tick to your financial situation AND make you much more optimistic and excited about the future. Your ninth house has a buildup of planets - Uranus, Jupiter, and Venus - so it looks like opportunity will be brewing in this house. The ninth house is all about the taking in and the giving out of information. Specifically, the ancients put university study, travel (for its broadening effects), publishing, and broadcasting in this house. These are the areas to look at for future success.
The international link seems especially promising. You may already be thinking about expanding your business, say, with import-export ideas, and so you may start to establish relationships with people based afar. You may be thinking of going back to college or graduate school, at home or even taking a year to study abroad. Whether you go to the university at home or abroad, your timing will be perfect. Jupiter will help you find the right institution for you and may even help you find money to pay for your studies.
If you are a writer, you may be thinking of translating your work into other languages. Translation is a big part of this trend, so continue down that path. This is a theme that will continue until January 2011, so it's a long one, and it could change your financial picture for the better.
The first sign that something is happening abroad will come suddenly when Mercury shoots a beam to Uranus on February 6. You may even meet a foreign person who lives in your country or overseas. If this person is in your city, he or she will fit in so naturally, you may not be aware that this person is from somewhere else. This person from a foreign land will be magic for you, and only later will it dawn on you that your benefactor was born on foreign shores.
If you moved to another country long ago (even when you were little) your present country of residence is technically 'foreign' to you - which means you won't have to go anywhere to reap the luck. It will literally be at your feet! You can travel, of course, and reach out to other people in other countries, for if you do, you'll just widen your net further. February 6 may alternatively bring luck with a publishing or broadcasting venture.
To get you thinking, I will give you a little example of how this worked for me lately. I had your aspect last year (Jupiter in the ninth house). When I joined Elle in September 2009, it was my year for happiness in publishing (ninth house). I was offered a contributing editorship to my favorite magazine, in itself exciting. It was only much later that I realized that Elle is not an American publishing company - they're part of the French company Hachette Filipacchi! (Again, my magical ninth house was lit up!) Also, Elle sold my monthly column to Elle Hong Kong (more ninth house emphasis and happy news). No wonder my new position at the magazine was making me so happy!
When Jupiter is involved, you tend to love the assignments and people involved, so the situation just naturally blossoms. I tell you this so that you can start thinking of how Jupiter can work to assist you, sometimes without your even being aware that he is doing so! Of course, it is best if you actively help things along in a proactive way!
Endeavors you start now can last 10 years or more, too.
Your next big moment - a much bigger one - will happen on February 27-28, bridging two days, when Jupiter conjoins the Sun. This is a five-star aspect that I always call the luckiest days of the year. In 2009 Jupiter and the Sun never met (they instead met in December 2008), so there was no dumb, crazy luck to be found in 2009. Watch to see what may come up for you over the weekend of February 27-28.
It would be important that you plan an initiation for that weekend or earlier, in the days leading to February 27, for your luck will build on Thursday, February 25, and Friday, February 26. If you find that you are traveling at this time, then it means something very important is likely to stem from that trip or your talks with people at a distance, if you have to stay home. It's a fantastic time for you and doubly so if you were born within five days of June 30.
You may get spiritual insights from the trip, but you may also see a generous amount of money as a result of discussions that come up at month's end. The money may materialize now or later, but it should make you very excited about the future. Be brave and name the numbers you want. You may plant a seed that grows into a tall oak tree, dear Cancer, and in so doing manage to solve some or all of your financial dilemmas.
Jupiter is a planet that is innately tied to financial success, and the Sun just happens to rule your solar second house of earned income. This is excellent! Jupiter also naturally rules your sixth house of work assignments, so you can readily see the implications - a new assignment can come up as a result of what develops from this time, and it would be a situation that pays you quite generously. Because these planets are meeting in your ninth house of distant travel, it may come from an international company, based in your country or on foreign shores. Sometimes a meeting takes place but the success of that first meeting is not obvious until weeks or even months later. No matter! Luck is on the way, dear Cancer! Plant a seed!
Your health should be excellent at month's end, too. Jupiter conjunct the Sun is considered one of the most healing aspects for the body. If you need an operation or special medical procedure, which is possible because your eighth house will be emphasized this month, choose February 25 or 26 to have your procedure done. If your doctor or dentist doesn't work on those days, then choose any day in the last week of February.
(To explain, the eighth house is the house of physical transformation, and therefore rules surgery and medical / dental procedures that are meant to remove or fix what is hurting you and make you well. When we have a new moon in that house, as you will on February 13, it is a good time to schedule medical actions. You really do have a sensational month to move ahead!)
The legendary pairing of Jupiter and the Sun in a water sign could also bring you good news about a college you are applying to, or a professorship you want to attain. Set that interview, even if you feel your chance of getting in is slim. If you need to take a major qualifying exam at the end of the month, again, your timing will be excellent. Good news happens near the luckiest day of the year, often when you least expect it to!
The full moon will fall at the same time, February 28, and that means that the legendary and rare conjunction of the Sun and Jupiter in Pisces will be given even more razzle-dazzle. Energy is always very high at full moons! This full moon will occur in your third house, also ruling travel, so it really does seem like you'll be traveling and will later come back feeling very happy, for so many reasons. Your talks will go well, the accommodations will be special, you will like the people you meet, you will learn a great deal, and you'll easily and naturally show off your best qualities - gee, it could not be better, dear Cancer!
If you are not traveling, you may be ready to show your new website or blog, launch an advertising or publicity campaign, or unveil a new cell phone app. You may design a logo for your company, or be ready to show the client new software you wrote. You may write an article for a magazine or be a guest on television. The accent on communication will be very strong, and you will have the ability to reach out to many people.
If you were born on July 1, plus or minus five days, you will feel the effects of this glorious aspect even more directly than others. Even if you are not, though, remember, you may have other planets in the vicinity of 9-10 degrees of a water sign that could be instantly lit up. Just wait to see what happens.
This is the month that holds Valentine's Day, so let's now talk about romance. First, you are in luck, because Venus will tour Pisces from February 11 to March 7, just in time for fun all month. You have weeks of glorious help from Venus, a great time to look at your appearance and make changes if you like. Mercury is no longer retrograde, so if you want to get advice from a stylist for your hair, or if you are a woman, makeup, this is the month to do it!
At the new moon, February 13, Venus will flirt with Pluto, now based in your committed relationship sector. This is important because Pluto RULES your house of new love, but is now BASED in your commitment and marriage house. Wow! This is as good as it gets! Pluto and Venus will help you find a new sweetheart and if you are attached, these two planets will push emotions upward and surround you with tenderness and passion. Venus will be based in your ninth house of wide horizons, so if you like, take a trip with your sweetheart for this day for lovers.
Meanwhile, Jupiter, the great giver of gifts and luck, will embrace Venus on February 16. That's a big aspect that will extend its glow two days earlier, to February 14, for sure, to make this day for lovers exciting and very, very special.

This is especially good news, for on January 30, you had to write a check or had to make a big financial decision. This month will be good for your finances for other reasons.
